Meeting transcription
Transcribe meetings on your Mac — without a bot in the call
Echosy listens to your Mac's system audio and microphone, so it transcribes any meeting app — Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack huddles — locally on your machine. Nothing is uploaded, and no participant sees a notetaker join.

Why transcribe meetings on-device?
Cloud notetakers like Otter or Fireflies join your meeting as a visible bot and send the audio to their servers. That is a problem for client calls, legal and medical conversations, hiring interviews, and anything under NDA. Echosy takes the opposite approach: it records what your Mac already plays and transcribes it with on-device AI models running on your Mac's GPU.
There is no bot, no account, and no upload. The transcript appears in real time while the meeting is running, with timestamps, and stays in a local folder you choose.
How it works
- Start your meeting in any app — Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, or a browser tab.
- Press ⌘⇧R (or click Record). Echosy captures system audio and your microphone simultaneously via macOS ScreenCaptureKit.
- Watch the live transcript with timestamps as people speak.
- When the meeting ends, generate an AI summary with action items — using your own OpenAI/Gemini key, or fully offline with Ollama.

Built for real meetings
- Both sides of the conversation — system audio (them) + microphone (you) in one transcript.
- Live captions — text streams in as people speak, not after the call.
- 24+ languages — including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean, with strong mixed-language handling.
- AI summaries & Ask AI — get minutes, decisions, and action items; ask follow-up questions grounded in the transcript.
- Export — Markdown, TXT, and with Pro: SRT, VTT, DOCX, PDF.
- Up to 4-hour sessions with Pro (free tier records 15 minutes per session).
Frequently asked questions
Does Echosy join the meeting as a bot?+
No. Echosy runs only on your Mac and captures the audio your Mac plays and records. Other participants never see a notetaker join, and nothing is sent to a cloud service.
Which meeting apps does it work with?+
All of them. Because Echosy captures macOS system audio via ScreenCaptureKit, it works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack huddles, Discord, FaceTime, and any browser-based call.
Is the transcription really offline?+
Yes. Speech recognition runs entirely on-device using local AI models (Qwen3-ASR, Whisper). An internet connection is only used if you choose a cloud LLM for summaries — and you can use Ollama locally instead for a fully offline workflow.
How long can a meeting be?+
The free tier records up to 15 minutes per session. Echosy Pro (one-time $49.80, no subscription) extends this to 4 hours per session and unlocks all 10 speech models.
Do I need permission to record meetings?+
Recording laws vary by region — many places require consent from participants. Always inform participants and follow your local laws and company policy before recording.
